Call for Polish and International Artists

The Polish Contemporary Art Group is proud to announce a call for Polish and international artists on various stages of their artistic practice for the exhibition ‘Pop Maskulinity’.

The issue of masculinity seems to be underexplored in the contemporary art, hence we look for entries that would take on the subject from different perspectives. We welcome entries from artists working in all media.

There are a number of questions you may want to consider when approaching this subject and among them could be:

  • What does being a man mean these days?
  • How is masculinity represented in pop culture?
  • Do you agree or disagree with this representation?
  • As a man, how do you see your and other men’s masculinity?
  • As a woman, how do you perceive men in the present day?
  • Do you believe the status of men have changed over the years and if so, then how?
  • What shapes a man’s place in the society nowadays and what are the consequences of it?

Don’t feel restricted to these questions as they only serve as suggestions. It is completely up to your imagination how you wish to interpret and approach this subject. Open your mind and contribute to this cultural dialogue about men in the 21st century.

The exhibition will take place in Edinburgh in October/November (details TBC).
